Frequently asked questions

Do cleansing wipes effectively clean my face?

+

No, cleansing wipes don’t fully cleanse the skin. They may remove some makeup but often smear dirt, oil, and debris across your face. For proper cleansing, use a cleanser with water to rinse away impurities.

Why shouldn’t I use bar soap to wash my face?

+

Bar soap, even expensive or “moisturising” ones, has a high pH due to binders that hold it together. This can dehydrate your skin, cause dryness, and lead to dead skin cell buildup. It’s better suited for the body.

Why should I apply my skincare products immediately after cleansing?

+

After cleansing, you have about one minute before moisture begins to evaporate from your skin—a process known as transepidermal water loss. This can lead to dehydration, even if your skin isn't technically dry. To prevent this, apply a SKIN PJs’ Face Mist or Wow-Wow Wonder serum right away while your skin is still damp. This helps lock in hydration and improves product absorption. It’s called the “Golden Minute Rule”—keep your next product nearby and apply it quickly for best results!

Do I really need to wash my face in the morning?

+

Yes! Even if you cleansed the night before, washing your face in the morning is essential. While you sleep, your skin produces sebum and excretes toxins. You’re also left with remnants of your nighttime skincare. Morning cleansing clears all of this away, giving your skin a clean canvas for your daytime products—especially sunscreen—to work effectively.

Why should I use a cloth to remove my makeup instead of just rinsing?

+

Cleansers and balms are designed to dissolve makeup—not fully remove it on their own. While rinsing helps, it's the gentle wiping action of a muslin cloth that actually lifts leftover makeup, dirt, and debris from the skin. Without this step, traces of makeup can remain—even after cleansing.

Pro Tip: After cleansing, rinse your face as usual, then follow up with a soft, damp cloth to gently wipe away all residue. This simple extra step helps ensure a truly clean canvas, enhances your glow, and preps your skin for your next steps without irritation.

Should I wet my face before using a clay-based cleanser to remove makeup?

+

Yes—clay cleansers should always be applied to damp skin. Unlike oil or balm cleansers that work best on dry skin, clay-based formulas are activated by water. Applying them to a wet face allows the product to glide smoothly, helping the clay bind to surface oil, dirt, and impurities without tugging or drying out your skin.

Clay cleansers often contain ingredients like Kaolin and Bentonite clay, which absorb excess oil and help purify clogged pores. Starting with a damp face ensures even application and prevents the formula from drying too quickly.

What are the skin care benefits of clay?

+

Clay is widely used in skincare for its powerful detoxifying properties. It helps draw out impurities such as excess oil, dirt, and toxins from the skin’s surface, leaving it feeling cleansed and refreshed.

So, who should use a clay cleanser?

+

In short — everyone! Regardless of your skin type, clay cleansers can be a great addition to your routine for detoxifying, deep cleansing, and promoting a fresher, more balanced complexion.

What are the benefits of the Muslin Cloth with Clay-Based Cleanser?

+

Elevate your cleansing ritual by pairing a bamboo muslin cloth with your clay-based cleanser. This dynamic duo delivers a deep, balanced cleanse with skin-loving benefits:

  • Deep Pore Detox & Oil Control
  • Gentle Daily Exfoliation
  • Hydration & Barrier Support

How do you know if you have Combination (Oily T-Zone) skin?

+
What makes TUBAIRLESS® different from traditional tubes? +

TUBAIRLESS® uses advanced airless technology with a soft plastic pouch inside a squeezable tube. This design prevents air from re-entering, preserving the product’s freshness, and dispenses up to 95% of the content, minimizing waste compared to traditional tubes.

1. How does the pump-free dispensing work? +
The internal pouch acts as a one-way piston. When you squeeze the tube at the marked "PRESS HERE TO DISPENSE CLEANSER" area, the pouch pushes the product out smoothly without drawing air back in, ensuring effortless and precise dispensing.
2. Can I control how much product comes out? +
Yes, you can control the amount by adjusting the pressure. A light squeeze dispenses a small amount, while a firmer squeeze releases more product, thanks to the airless technology.
3. Is TUBAIRLESS® eco-friendly? +
Absolutely. It’s made with lightweight, recyclable materials and uses up to 50% less plastic than pump-based airless packs. Plus, its high evacuation rate reduces product waste.
4. Do I need to cut the tube to get the remaining product? +
No, TUBAIRLESS® is designed to deliver up to 95% of the product with simple squeezing. No cutting or hard pressing is required.
5. How do I know when the tube is empty? +
Continue squeezing until the tube feels empty. TUBAIRLESS® ensures minimal residue, so you’ll notice when the product stops dispensing.
6. Is the tube durable for travel? +
Yes, its sleek, durable design retains its shape and protects the product, making it perfect for travel without the bulk of pump-based packaging.
Is my skin purging or breaking out from a new product? +
1. What is skin purging? +
Skin purging is a temporary breakout triggered by active ingredients that speed up skin cell turnover (e.g., retinoids, exfoliating acids, Vitamin C). This process brings clogged pores to the surface faster before the skin clears.
2. Purging vs. Breakouts +
Purging: Occurs in usual breakout areas, consists of small uniform pimples, and lasts 4–6 weeks.
Breakout/Reaction: Appears in new areas, lasts beyond 6 weeks, and may include painful cysts, irritation, or rashes.
Purging vs. Breakouts
3. What causes skin purging? +
Ingredients that accelerate cell turnover include:
Retinoids (RetinAL, Retinol, Tretinoin)
Exfoliating Acids (AHAs like Glycolic Acid, BHAs like Salicylic Acid)
Vitamin C (L-Ascorbic Acid)
Benzoyl Peroxide, Azelaic Acid, Enzymes
4. What causes breakouts? +
• Hormonal fluctuations: (e.g., menstruation, pregnancy)
• Stress & diet: (dairy, high-glycaemic foods)
• Clogged pores: (heavy products, comedogenic ingredients)
• Bacteria & environmental factors: (humidity, pollution)
5. Should you stop using a product if you’re purging? +
No—purging means the product is working! Stay consistent but avoid adding new actives to prevent irritation.
Skin Cycling
6. How to minimise purging +
• Introduce actives gradually: start once a week (evening), then increase to 2–3 times per week if no irritation after two weeks.
• Use gentle, hydrating skincare alongside actives.
• Avoid over-exfoliation and harsh scrubs.
• Stay consistent—purging is temporary!
Minimise Purging
7. Can non-active ingredients cause purging? +
No—only cell-turnover ingredients trigger purging. If a product without actives is causing breakouts, it’s likely irritation or clogged pores.
8. What if it’s a breakout, not purging? +
• Stop using the product and observe changes.
• Check for comedogenic ingredients.
• Patch test before full use.
