My cheeks are very sensitive to cold, warm, dry, windy conditions, chillies, curries and alcohol. Cannot wear a warm thing around my neck, be within 4-6 meters from a fireplace or sit in the sun. I used to use the ruby marine in a jar and loved the smell. I now have purchased the ruby marine stick and the smell is totally different, texture is lovely but disappointed by the smell...it also smells a bit 'stale'. Not sure why that is?
That delicious smell is no longer there in the product. Maybe the company can clarify?

It took a bit of getting used to, as I usually only used water based creams. Initially my skin felt very oily after applying the marine barrier, but after a week my skin got used to it and it now feels a lot more hydrated, plump and has a healthier glow to it.

My skin reacted badly to this product. It became red, angry and sensitive. I am so disappointed as I struggle with Rosacia and I really hoped that this serum would alleviate my symptoms. I have always relied on the Ruby Marine mask to compliment my skin care regime. It used to be the most amazing product when it was sold in a little glass tub. It smelled amazing too, but that was always just a side note to the incredible benefits that it had for my skin. I have very sensitive skin and this product was such a find for me about 5 years ago- maybe more… I am old and forgetful. However, last week I ordered the mask via takealot and, sadly, realized that those beautiful little tubs were no more and my RM serum would now be in a ‘push-pop’ cardboard packaging. The entire experience is lost. I try and roll this uncomfortable thing onto my face each night and end up with a face that smells of cardboard. I can’t even work out how to get the serum out of the cardboard roll as mine is clearly not working. Honestly cannot tell yet if the beneficial properties are the same as before, but dang! It’s not a good experience anymore. Seriously, Skoon, bring back the good ol’ Ruby

I have just recently purchased the newly improved version of the ruby marine offering and whilst I am excited to enjoy it's added benefits after being totally obsessed and in love with it's predecessor, the first thing I noticed is it's fragrance/ or lack thereof. I soooooo miss the delicious "vanilla" type smell of the original hydrating mask. Perhaps it is more of a personal preference?.... But it certainly added to the sensory enjoyment of using the product for me.

I love the smell of the Ruby marine balm but the formulation is too soft…. It is midwinter and it looses its shape and chips off when I try and use it…..it will be difficult to use in a Durban summer….I have to not roll it up but dip my finger into it otherwise it just smears over the edges of the container…. I think it’s a great idea but someone needs to rethink the formulation to make it firmer and more practical……
